STILLWATER – The spring sky was starting to darken and, in the time, just pass dusk, Evan Felker, the lead singer and front man for The Turnpike Troubadours looked out over the 48,000 strong inside Boone Pickens Stadium and said, “These are my favorite shows of my life.”

The native of Okemah, Okla. and a former resident of Stillwater has built with his bandmate’s guitarist Ryan Engleman, bass player R.C.

OSU caught lightning in a bottle with these shows. This lineup doesn't sell as well in other areas. I hope to see OSU do more concerts too and this will definitely open up some more conversations. But keep in mind the artists ALWAYS get the lion's share of the revenue. Way to go Sr. Assoc AD Kyle Waters!

I wasn't interested in attending the concert, but I won some tickets given away by TPSR. I was in Springfield, MO and did not get away from work until 3:30 so I arrived to see the last three Artist - The Great Divide, Turnpike Troubadours, and Cross Canadian Ragweed. Much too my surprise Red Dirt Music really is closer to Grunge Rock of the nineties or Mild Rock reminding me of 3 Doors Down and Nickelback then bonafide Country Music.

The crowd on Thursday Night had a mixture of all age ranges or generations, but reminded me of a rock concert back in the 60's to 70's. I thought it was great to have Coach Gundy and some devotions from OSU Alumni related to the Remember the ten plane crash and people had emotions during this part of the concert. This seemed to be much more than just the music and seemed to reunite all of us during a difficult time in our history that we are accepted and care about our brother as in the "Stillwater Strong" or "Loyal and True" mottos.

Thanks RA and Zach for the tickets as the seats were great and I had a good time, even though I almost didn't get there. Hopefully more concerts will be happening at BPS like All American Rejects AAR or Garth Brooks in the future!!!

It really has been a great weekend. The whole town handled it well and I'm glad the concert had some benefit, although I would've liked to have seen it benefit something other than the NIL.. maybe idk… give money towards academics so students who aren't athletes get some benefit.

So glad you were able to make it down for the show and that you enjoyed it! My folks went on Saturday night and this was my dad's first dive into Red Dirt and he had the same thoughts as you on Cross Canadian Ragweed in that he thought it was more rock that country. But he really enjoyed it as well.

We went on Thursday night, of course we are fans of all the bands from our youth to today and we loved every minute of it! My husband has been waiting 30 years to see The Great Divide and it checked his bucket list. I checked mine with Stoney and the Troubadours. Of course CCR was epic too. I am just so happy we decided to make that decision to go even if we had to drive the 2+ hours both ways that day…..it was worth every minute of it and the memories wil last a lifetime!!
