STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has added another player out of the portal, this time in UAB transfer forward, Christian Coleman.

We reported Coleman arrived in town Thursday evening for an official visit, meaning he committed to Steve Lutz and Co. before leaving town. Coleman should have year of eligibility remaining.

Coleman checks in at 6-8, 205 pounds and is originally out of Franklin Parish out of Winnsboro, LA. He chose the Pokes over a number of schools, including Arizona State, who he visited a few weeks ago. He also heard from Cincinnati, Memphis, OU and Seton Hall among others.

This past season as a senior, Coleman averaged nearly 12 points on 53% shooting from the floor and 7.1 rebounds per game. And for the biggest surprise you’ll probably read all portal season, he shot 0% from 3-point range as he attempted and missed his one 3-point shot of the season across 37 games and more than 1,000 minutes of action.

Prior to his time at UAB, he started his career at NAIA LSU Alexandria, where he appears to have redshirted and didn’t record any stats.

He spent one season with South Plains College (JUCO), where he played in 29 games and averaged 20.1 points per game on 52% shooting from the floor.

This now gives Lutz and Co. 11 scholarship players, with the return of Robert Jennings II and Andrija Vukovic, and a trio of high school players which include guard Ryan Crotty and big men Mekhi Ragland and Ben Ahmed.Coleman is the sixth player to commit out of the portal, joining Mississippi State guard guards Kanye Clary, Seton Hall guard Isaiah Coleman, Green Bay guard Anthony Roy, LSU guard Vyctorius Miller and Oregon State forward Parsa Fallah.
