STILLWATER – Oklahoma State softball standouts Alysen Febrey, Carrie Eberle and Hayley Busby were announced as 2021 All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association today.

Febrey earned first team accolades at first base, Eberle was a second-team pitcher and Busby was a third team designated player.

Each of the three are Division I transfers who achieved stardom at OSU after beginning their college careers elsewhere. Before coming to Stillwater, Febrey played three seasons at Georgia, Eberle played three seasons at Virginia Tech and Busby played two seasons at Virginia.

For both Febrey and Eberle, it’s the second straight year with an All-America honor. During the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Softball America placed Febrey on its first team All-America squad and Eberle on its second team.

Febrey enters play at the Women’s College World Series batting .409 with 18 home runs and 59 runs batted in. She ranks in the top 10 nationally in RBI (fifth) and total bases (ninth). She is just two home runs shy of matching Samantha Show’s single-season school record of 20.

Eberle is 25-3 on the year with a 1.41 earned run average. She is credited with seven shutouts and an additional two combined shutouts. In 178.2 innings of work, she has limited her opponents to a .192 batting average.

Busby bats .389 with 19 home runs and 49 RBI. She ranks in the top 20 nationally in home runs, total bases and slugging percentage. Her 19 homers put her just one behind Show’s school-record mark from 2019.

These three All-America honors bring OSU softball’s all-time total to 42, with 11 of those coming during Kenny Gajewski’s time as head coach (2016-present). Febrey and Eberle join Jamie Foutch, Vanessa Shippy, Shari Johnson, Michele Smith, Melanie Roche and Kim Ward as Cowgirls to earn All-America recognition in more than one season.

The Cowgirls face Georgia at 1:30 p.m. CT tomorrow at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in opening day action at the Women’s College World Series.
