Oklahoma State To Play ORU in Tulsa in 2021

July 21, 2021

STILLWATER – For the first time since the 1996-97, Oklahoma State will play Oral Roberts in the Mabee Center. According to a tweet from the ORU basketball Twitter account, the Pokes will face ORU in Tulsa at the Mabee Center on Nov. 26.

The game between the two programs in Tulsa in Dec. 1996 resulted in a 71-60 win for the Golden Eagles.

The Cowboys are currently riding a three-game win streak over the Golden Eagles, with the latest win coming this past season, 83-78 in Stillwater.

Junior guard Max Abmas led the way for the Golden Eagles this past season, leading the nation with 24.6 points a game. He also posted 3.8 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from 3-point range and 89% from the free throw line. He posted an impressive 33-points on 10-of-19 shooting against the Pokes this past season.

Abmas is returning to ORU for his junior season.

Cade Cunningham led the way for the Pokes as he posted 29 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field.

The rest of the Pokes’ non-conference schedule has yet to be announced, but they’ll face North Carolina State and UMass Lowell in the inaugural Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase on Nov. 16-17, Xavier in Stillwater Dec. 5 in the Big 12/Big East Battle and they’ll travel to Florida and face the Gators in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Jan. 29.
