STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is still looking to add offensive linemen in the 2022 class. One of the top prospects remaining on the board is New Mexico Military Institute offensive tackle, Tyrone Webber, who just set his commitment date.
Webber, who included the Pokes in his top 5 list back in July, took to Twitter on Monday announced his commitment date of December 10th.
He’ll be choosing between Oklahoma State, Baylor, Houston, Ole Miss and Syracuse, having trimmed his list down from more than 20 offers.
Webber is a 6-5, 290-pound prospect originally out of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, who was selected as a NJCAA First-Team All-American following his freshman season. He is also the top lineman coming out of Canada in his class.
“Tyrone Webber is an intriguing prospect for a number of reasons. The obvious being his size at 6'5 290+ with long arms. The Cowboys are looking for tackle-type bodies and he has a college ready one. He is also a very strong prospect when you turn on the film, which is no surprise when you look at where he's from. This is a kid that is at New Mexico Military, a JUCO that has had great success in producing offensive lineman in the past. He plays with a mean streak and does not finish until he drives you into the ground one way or another. He has a very quick first punch and has also shown the speed to get to the next level. On film, he looks comfortable in pass pro and run blocking, which is a key in an offensive like Oklahoma State's where both are vital at any given moment.” -Marshall Levenson
There is currently one offensive lineman committed in the 2022 class, Austin Kawecki, a 6-5, 270-pound tackle out of Frisco (TX) Lebanon Trail. Dickey and the offensive staff is hoping to bring in roughly 3-4 linemen in this recruiting cycle.
