STILLWATER – According to a report from The Oklahoman’s Jacob Unruh, Oklahoma State basketball player Bryce Williams was arrested early Sunday morning after he was pulled over “after a campus police officer suspected he was driving drunk.”
Pokes Report reached out to the university, who confirmed they are aware of the incident and are in a fact-gathering phase but declined to give a statement.
Williams, a senior guard, was charged on Monday in the Payne County District Court with a misdemeanor, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, according to Unruh of The Oklahoman.
Williams is entering his second year at Oklahoma State after announcing he would be taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA.
This past season as a junior, Williams started 19 of his final 21 games of the season, averaging 7.3 points and 1.8 rebounds a game. He ranked third on the team in assists (54), steals (28) and blocks (19).
He transferred to OSU from Ole Miss prior to the start of the 2020-21 season. He attended Daytona State prior to his stop at Ole Miss.
Pokes Report will continue to monitor the situation and update the article as more news becomes available.
