STILLWATER ---- The Big 12 Conference released its 2021-22 men's basketball schedule that will showcase Oklahoma State in two Big Monday games, the league office announced Wednesday. The Cowboys have appeared in at least two of the conference's marquee contests in each of the past three seasons.

This will mark 53 Big Monday appearances for the Cowboys since the game's inception in 1992. OSU's first appearance in the marquee game will come on Feb. 14 when it travels to Lawrence to face Kansas. The Pokes' lone home edition of the contest is set for Feb. 21 when the defending national champions, Baylor, come to Gallagher-Iba.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Oklahoma State is scheduled to face 11 opponents that reached the postseason in 2021 between non-conference action and Big 12 games. Of those 11, nine won at least one game in the tournament while four reached the Sweet 16.

The Pokes are set to open conference play on Jan. 1 when they travel to Lubbock to face Texas Tech to start their journey through American's top basketball league.

Kansas makes it annual trip to Stillwater on Jan. 4 for OSU's Big 12 home opener. No other program has had as much recent success against the Jayhawks as Oklahoma State, which has nine wins over KU since 2008. The Cowboys have won five of the past eight games against Kansas in GIA, including the famous 2018 sweep of the Jayhawks – the first by any program since 2001.

Texas returns to GIA for the first time this season on Jan. 8 before the Cowboys' return trip on Jan. 22.

OSU's first look at West Virginia comes on Jan. 11 as it travels to Morgantown. The Mountaineers later come to Gallagher-Iba on Feb. 12.

The Orange and Black will challenge Baylor for the first time as OSU travels to Waco on Saturday, Jan. 15 before their later meeting on Big Monday.

For the second-straight year, both Phillips 66 Bedlam showdowns will be conveniently played on Saturdays. The Sooners will travel to GIA on Feb. 5 before the Cowboys hit the road for Norman on Feb. 26.

Oklahoma State will close out league play on March 5 in Gallagher-Iba Area as it plays host to Texas Tech.

OSU is coming off a banner season that included a trip to the Big 12 Championship title game and the program's first NCAA Tournament win since 2009. The Cowboys return All-Big 12 Championship team member Avery Anderson III and two-time All-Big 12 Conference selection Isaac Likekele to a roster that also includes standouts Kalib and Keylan Boone, Rondel Walker, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and Bryce Williams.

Boynton also added four talented transfers that have Oklahoma State poised for another run in March. Former Kansas standout and McDonald's All-American Bryce Thompson anchors an incoming class that also includes former Memphis big man Moussa Cisse, former Texas Tech forward Tyreek Smith and former Syracuse wing Woody Newton.

Television and tipoff information for the Big 12 Conference schedule will be released as it becomes available.
