When trying to gauge the talent of a skill player, at any level, we tend to look at their stats to get a good measurement of production. If a quarterback, running back, or receiver have low yardage numbers, you assume they aren’t very good. If a linebacker or a safety have low tackling numbers, you assume they’re not very good as well. There is one skill position though, that stats mean absolutely nothing... and that is cornerback.
