STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State standout Lindy Waters III got his first NBA start Wednesday night as the Oklahoma City Thunder took on the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The guard out of Norman, OK finished with eight points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in a career-high 28 minutes in the 132-102 loss on the road to the Timberwolves.

While he didn’t start the previous game, his performance against the defending NBA champs, the Milwaukee Bucks, earned him player of the game by Bally Sports Oklahoma.

He finished with a career-high 16-points on Tuesday night on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor, 4-of-9 shooting from 3-point range, with three rebounds and a steal.

Through the first 11 games of his NBA career, Waters III is averaging 5.2 points and 2.0 rebounds a game.

The Thunder will be back in action this coming Sunday, March 13 as the Memphis Grizzlies come to town. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
