Oklahoma State Lands Commitment From Bixby Sharpshooter Parker Friedrichsen
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State just landed its first commitment of the 2023 class. Parker Friedrichsen, a sharpshooting guard out of Bixby (OK) High School, took to Twitter on Monday to announce his commitment to the Pokes.
Friedrichsen, a 6-3, 165-pound shooting guard, held more than 20 offers and chose the Cowboys over Creighton, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, ORU, Tulsa and Virginia Tech among others.
Friedrichsen was in Stillwater on an official visit the weekend when the Cowboys upset No. 12 Texas Tech 52-51 to close out the 2021-22 season.
In his end-of-the-season press conference, head coach Mike Boynton talked about the need to add shooters to the roster. While it’s not in the 2022 class, it doesn’t get much better than adding one of the best players and best overall shooter in the state.
This past season as a junior, Friedrichsen averaged 27.8 points a game, as well as 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.3 steals.
He recorded two 40-point games this season, against Jenks and Broken Arrow, as well as posting 30+ points 11 times this season. He dropped 39 against McAlester and 33 and 31 points against Tulsa Union.
Friedrichsen is a four-star in the 2023 class and is currently the No. 104 overall ranked prospect in the country according to the 247Sports composite.
