Lindy Waters III Sets New Career-High, Ties Thunder Rookie Record
STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State standout Lindy Waters III continues to turn heads in the NBA and Wednesday evening was no different.
Waters III dropped a new career-high 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field against Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks and a career-best seven made 3-pointers.
His seven made threes tied an OKC rookie record set by Tre Mann and he became the first rookie in Thunder history to make four 3-point shots in three consecutive games.
Oh, and he also managed to slam home this nice little alley oop as well.
“At this point in the season we're looking for like relevance and I thought the shots he got tonight were relevant,” said OKC head coach Mark Daigneault after the game. “Obviously he had a loud night because he made seven, but it's been impressive that he's been ticking up his attempts without sacrificing quality it means he's moving and finding those shots.”
Through 21 games, Waters III is averaging 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
