Oklahoma State Offers Buffalo Transfer Running Back

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is still active in the transfer portal as they have extended an offer to former Buffalo running back, Dylan McDuffie.

Including a COVID year, McDuffie still has two years of eligibility remaining.

McDuffie is 6-0, 207 pounds and had a breakout season as a junior in 2021. In his first season as a starter, he led the team in rushing and was fourth in the MAC with 1,049 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also hauled in 14 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown.

He had four 100-yard games this past season, including 166 yards and two touchdowns against Bowling Green.

In his three previous seasons, McDuffie carried the ball 32 times for 209 yards.

Things are moving quickly between McDuffie and running backs coach John Wozniak and the recruiting staff as he’ll be in Stillwater on an official visit the weekend of the spring game.

The Cowboys had a lot of success this past season in the transfer portal as Jaylen Warren had a breakout season. He was tabbed the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year after rushing for 1,134 yards and 11 touchdowns on 237 carries during the regular season. He carried the ball 19 times for 82 yards and had six receptions for 34 yards against Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.

With Warren on his way to a professional career, the Cowboys have five scholarship backs on the roster: junior Dominic Richardson, redshirt sophomore Zach Middleton, redshirt freshman Jaden Nixon and freshmen Ollie Gordon and CJ Brown.

Do you have any suggestions from the transfer portal?
And we do have GUNNAR! This is going to be Gunnar's year should Spencer get injured (as he's prone to do).
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

He will be a good backup. Someone with experience in the RB room. Who knows, can even be our next Warren. Any idea who is running as RT right now within the Oline? I saw Etienne is LT, Birmingham is LG, Joe or Wilson is C, Woodard is RG. But no idea on who the RT is.

He's got a bit off the field history that's very troubling… hoping the staff did a full vetting of him to make sure he's not a guy that got away with something.

Prestige Wilson as RT last year. Maybe his backup will be Tyrone Webber

Auto correct....Preston not prestige ..

Thanks, I see. So Joe and Eli will be center, Preston and Webber will be RTs. Ok

I guess if that is the case at LT, we must have some positive growth occurring on the OL. If I recall, that's Springfield's position too and he must be running 3rd( ?). He had to start a couple years back some as a freshman if I recall and was serviceable it seemed. And a portal transfer recently was a tackle too if I recall....so here comes another depth addition or better.

I see an article from end of March McDuffie withdrew his portal status to return to Buffalo after meeting new rb coach. ?? Did he flip back again Zac?

I think what we have is a lot of the OLine out rehabbing.

Spring drills will not establish the OLine.

heck, last year even after Fall drills we had to change the LT when neither of the 2-deep panned out.

I just read through the article you're referring to, but I'm not too sure about it. He's continued to tweet out offers and he'll be in Stillwater on an official visit for the Spring Game.

Edit** The article you're referring to was written the end of January and then updated. He originally entered the portal after the season and then pulled his name out at the end of Jan. after meeting with the new RBs coach. However, there's an article from the end of March from the same publication that's updated his statue to being back in the portal.
