Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe Enters the Transfer Portal
STILLWATER – Mike Boynton and Co. will be looking to replace a big man heading into the 2022-23 season as Oklahoma State forward Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe has announced he’s entering the transfer portal.
Moncrieffe http://instagr.am/p/CcD74XGp-sY">took to Instagram to make the announcement, which you can read below.
“I write this with a heavy heart. Cowboy nation these past two years have been nothing short of amazing for me. The brotherhood I’ve built with my teammates, and all the adversity we faced helped make me into a better man. Stillwater and the people here will always hold a special place in my heart. With all that being said my time at Oklahoma State has come to and end as I feel it’s in my best interest to enter the transfer portal.”
MA Moncrieffe makes the third player to enter the transfer portal this cycle, joining Keylan Boone and Donovan Williams.
Moncrieffe signed with Oklahoma State prior to the 2020 season. As a freshman, Moncrieffe averaged 9.0 points and 5.3 rebounds a game, posting a career-high 22 points on 11-of-17 shooting against Iowa State.
He posted 11 double-digit games, including scoring 11 points in the Big 12 Championship game against Texas.
As a sophomore this past season, Moncrieffe started the year off strong, but declined as the year went on. He scored a season-high 13 points in the season opener against UT Arlington, but his only other double-figure game came against Cleveland State when he scored 11.
He finished the season averaging 4.2 points and 3.9 rebounds a game.
As it stands right now, there are currently 10 scholarship players following the departure of Bryce Williams to graduation and Keylan Boone, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and Donovan Williams to the transfer portal. That number includes the addition of incoming freshman Quion Williams, and would go up to 11 should Isaac Likekele decide to return for an additional season.
