Rondel Walker Enters the Transfer Portal
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Cowboy basketball has lost another player to the transfer portal.
Pokes Report has confirmed the report from On3’s Matt Zenitz that soon-to-be junior guard Rondel Walker has entered his name into the transfer portal.
Walker now makes the fifth Cowboy player to enter the transfer portal this cycle, joining fellow guards Keylan Boone, Donovan Williams and Isaac Likekele (grad) and forward Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe.
Soon-to-be senior guard Avery Anderson III entered his name into the NBA Draft process earlier this week but did so without an agent so he can return if he doesn’t hear what he wants to.
Mike Boynton and Co. had their work cut out for them before the news of Walker entering the portal, but things seem a bit more dire now.
The sophomore out of Midwest City, OK, averaged 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds a game this past season in 30 games, starting in eight games.
During his career in Stillwater, he’s averaged 6.3 points per game and was set to play a bigger role in the lineup next season with the departures of Bryce Williams (graduation) and Isaac Likekele (grad transfer), as well as Keylan Boone to the transfer portal.
Scholarship players set to return next season is Bryce Thompson, Chris Harris, Kalib Boone, Tyreek Smith, Woody Newton, Bernard Kouma and Moussa Cisse, along with incoming freshman guard Quion Williams.
