Gage Gundy Receives Offer From Northern Iowa
STILLWATER – The offers are starting to roll in for Stillwater 2023 quarterback, Gage Gundy, who announced on Wednesday an offer from the University of Northern Iowa.
The youngest son of OSU head coach Mike Gundy, Gage, who checks in at 6-4, 210-pounds helped lead the Pioneers to a 9-3 overall record this past season as a junior. A dual-threat quarterback, Gage threw for 1,530 yards and 19 touchdowns, while rushing for 476 yards and eight touchdowns.
His performance this past season led to him being named to the Stillwater News Press’ All-Area football team in January.
Gage is a two-sport standout athlete for Stillwater High School as he’s also star on the baseball diamond for the Pioneers. Because of that, it’s still unclear the direction Gage will go when it comes to playing college athletics: the football route like his dad and brother, Gunnar, who’s currently a back-up quarterback for the Pokes, or will he play baseball at the next level.
Or of he’ll follow in the their footsteps and play football at Oklahoma State.
The Cowboys currently have a quarterback commit in the 2023 class, Zane Flores out of Gretna, NE. Flores committed to the Pokes this spring prior to the Spring Game in April.
Flores, a 6-2, 190-pound prospect, completed 232-of-331 passes last season for 2,885-yards and 36 touchdowns against just seven interceptions. He also rushed 74 times for 216-yards and 10 touchdowns, while leading his team to a 12-1 State Championship season.
