Report: Oklahoma State Basketball to Play Oakland on the Road in 2022-23
STILLWATER – It appears another non-conference game for Oklahoma State basketball has been scheduled. According to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, the Cowboys will be making a trip up to Detroit for a road game against Oakland.
This will mark the third all-time matchup between these two teams, as well as the first time the Cowboys will have made the trip up to Detroit in the series.
The Cowboys have played host to Oakland the past two seasons, with a 56-55 loss this past season and an 84-71 win over the Golden Grizzlies in 2020-21.
Mike Boynton and Co. will have a drastically different looking squad in 2022-23 as one player graduated, Bryce Williams, and five players entered the transfer portal: Keylan Boone and Donovan Williams (Pacific), Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe (Georgia), Rondel Walker (TCU) and Isaac Likekele (grad-Ohio State).
There have been three players signed out of the transfer portal: John-Michael Wright from High Point University, Caleb Asberry from Texas State and Russell Harrison from Louisiana-Monroe.
Boynton and Co. also signed one freshman in the 2022 class, four-star out of Jonesboro, AR, Quion Williams.
