Oklahoma State Lands in Final Group to Land 2023 Top-100 Prospect

STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma preps standout Trent Pierce has included Oklahoma State in his final six schools list.

Also included with the Pokes was Florida, Illinois Minnesota, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Trent Pierce is a 2023 6-7, 180-forward out of Compass Prep in Chandler, AZ. He transferred there from Tulsa Union earlier this year. He also played his AAU ball with Oklahoma-based Team Griffin.

He’s currently listed as the No. 81 overall prospect in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings, as well as the No. 17 overall power forward in the class the No. 7 overall prospect out of Arizona.

Pierce has already taken a majority of his official visits as he went to Minnesota back in mid-Feb., was in Stillwater in mid-May and Norman in mid-June. Prospects are allotted five official visits, so he has two more before the end of his cycle.

Mike Boynton and Co. were one of the first groups to offer Pierce as they offered back in early Sept. 2021 while he was in Stillwater on an unofficial visit. That was a month after Pierce received his first three offers all in the same day, ORU, OU and Tulsa.

This is going to be an interesting process to follow as this would be a huge get for Boynton and Co. as the Pokes are still looking for their first commitment in the 2023 class.
