John-Michael Wright Named Big 12 Newcomer Of The Week

IRVING, Texas ---- For his efforts last week, Oklahoma State men's basketball's John-Michael Wright was recognized with his first Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award, the conference announced today. 

Wright grabbed the rebound and made the game-winning shot just before the clock hit zero to help Oklahoma State collect a 71-68 home win over Texas Tech last Wednesday. In a road game at Iowa State, the senior guard scored 19 points in the Cowboys' 64-56 win to hand ISU its first home loss of the season.

For the week, Wright averaged 13.5 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting .563 (9-16) from the field.

Wright and the Cowboys return home Tuesday night to face No. 5 Kansas inside Gallagher-Iba Arena at 8 PM.
