Game Flow

  • Moussa Cisse scored the Cowboys’ first point of the game at the free-throw line after the steal and feed from Tyreek Smith.
  • Tyreek Smith’s activity continues to give the Cowboys a boost, ripping down the offensive rebound and putting the layup in for OSU’s first lead of the night, 3-2.
  • Two Longhorn three-pointers gave them the early advantage, taking a 10-5 lead into the first media timeout.
  • Caleb Asberry got Texas’ defenders jumping on two-straight three-point attempts and made all six free throws to tie the game at 11 with 11:50 left in the first half.
  • Despite shooting 3-for-13 from the field in the first 13 minutes, the Cowboys trail by just four points, 19-15.
  • Caleb Asberry led all scorers in the first half with 11 points, but the Cowboys headed into the locker room facing a 35-26 deficit.
  • Kalib Boone scored the Cowboys’ first two points of the second half with a power move down low. The Cowboys trailed 43-28.

  • The Cowboys got as close as nine down the stretch, but fell to the Longhorns, 61-47.

Game Notes

  • Head coach Mike Boynton went with Caleb Asberry, Bryce Thompson, John-Michael Wright, Moussa Cisse and Tyreek Smith as the starting-five for the third-straight game after beating Texas Tech and Oklahoma in the previous two games.
  • Kalib Boone recorded his second double-double of the season off the bench with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Boone also made his second three-pointer of the season.
  • Caleb Asberry led the Cowboys in scoring for the third-straight game. Asberry scored 16 points and reached double-figures for the 14th time this season and seventh-straight game. Asberry made 9-of-11 free throw attempts, the third most by a Cowboy this season.
  • Asberry has made 11 three-point field goals in the Cowboys' past three games.
  • Bryce Thompson has provided four or more assists in three-straight games and four of his last five.
  • Moussa Cisse made his third start since his injury earlier this season, scoring five points with six rebounds and one block.
