STILLWATER – It appears Mike Boynton and Co. are headed back into the transfer portal with Avery Anderson III announcing on Tuesday his intentions to transfer.

According to a report from Adam Zagoria, Oklahoma State is among the schools to have reached out to North Texas transfer guard, Tylor Perry.

Perry entered his name into the transfer portal, while also sending out feelers into the NBA Draft, following the departure of head coach Grant McCasland to Texas Tech.

The 2022-23 Conference USA Player of the Year was electric this year averaging 17.3 points per game, while also combining for 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals a game. He also shot 41% from 3-point range. He was one of the main catalysts in knocking the Cowboys out of the NIT in the quarterfinals in Stillwater as he dropped 23 points, six rebounds and four assists.

He’d go on to help North Texas win the NIT out in Las Vegas, earning the tournament’s MVP honors after the final buzzer.

This Cowboys’ roster is in desperate need of good, consistent 3-point shooting and being able to add Perry would be a big boost. However, the long list of schools Boynton and Co. are competing against, including a McCasland led-Texas Tech team, makes for an incredibly tough recruiting battle.
