STILLWATER – Oklahoma State and Mike Boynton and Co. are reportedly among a number of schools to reach out to Santa Clara transfer, Carlos Stewart.

This past season as a sophomore, Stewart, who checks in at 6-1, 185 pounds, was impressive as he averaged 15.2 points per game on 44% shooting, as well as 40% from beyond the 3-point line. He also shot 83% from the free throw line, hauled in 2.4 rebounds and dished out 2.3 assists per game. He also finished the season with 2.2 turnovers per game.

Those numbers were good for First Team All-WCC following the season.

Stewart helped lead Santa Clara to 23-10 overall record, 11-5 in conference play, while dropping 24 double-digit point performances, which included 12-straight games of double figures. He scored 10 points against No. 9 Gonzaga on Jan. 7, then turned around and scored 22 points against then-ranked No. 12 Gonzaga in an 88-70 loss on Feb. 2.

Stewart also played in all 33 games as a true freshman, averaging 5.4 points per game, while shooting 47% from the field.

The Cowboys will have a much different looking team in 2023-24 as Caleb Asberry will have graduated and moved on and the trio of Avery Anderson III, Moussa Cisse and Kalib Boone entered the transfer portal. Then there’s the five freshmen who have been signed in the 2023 class.

Boynton and Co. are also set to host East Carolina transfer guard, Javon Small, this coming Sunday and Monday.
