STILLWATER – The NCAA’s Andy Katz thinks pretty highly of Oklahoma State at this point in the season as he has the Pokes as a No. 7 seed in his latest bracektology.
He’s got the Pokes in the same region as the Baylor Bears and they’ll be facing No. 10 Loyola Chicago in the opening round.
Here’s a look at the rest of Katz’ bracket.
The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing 78-66 loss to a struggling Kansas team on Monday night in Lawrence. Once again, turnovers were a killer for the Pokes as they finished with 18 in the game, but 12 in the first half and four of those coming from Cade Cunningham, who finished the game with a season-high seven turnovers.
Cade did, however, finish with a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds. Avery Anderson III also finished with a solid night as he had 13 points, five rebounds and three assists.
The AP ranked the Pokes No. 23 in the lastest top-25 poll on Monday, but the Cowboys have a tough remaining schedule if they wish to finish the season still ranked. There are at least six games remaining on the schedule, with K-State coming to town on Feb. 13, then Iowa State on Tuesday the 16th. Those two games are the most winnable for the Pokes.
However, the remaining games are Baylor in Waco on the 20th, Texas Tech in Stillwater on the 22nd, then back-to-back games against OU, in Stillwater on the 25th and Norman the 27th.
