Watch: Mike Gundy's Media Availability Ahead of South Alabama

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy met with the media ahead of Saturday’s game against South Alabama.

The Pokes are 2-0 to start the season following a 27-15 road win over Arizona State this past Saturday.

"This is the most physical team we've played,” said Gundy. “This is the best team we've played up to this point. They're physical, they’ve done a nice job. They're a very aggressive defense. They want to hit you in the mouth. Their linebackers are aggressive. They have undersized defensive lineman, in somebody's opinion. They've got some 6'1, 6'2, 300-pound guys that are explosive and powerful. They play hard, they run to the ball, they tackle. This is the most physical team we've played.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

"Which two qb's would you tell they aren't going to play the next game." Well, coach, that's why you make the big bucks. At some point you need to tell two qb's they aren't going to play the next game for the good of the offense and the good of the team.

I will admit that in the past I have complained we don't give our backup QB enough game experience in the non-conference games and mop up duty; we have tended to pick a QB and play them almost 100%, and I was OK with the rotation for a couple of games, but we are now going too far in the other direction. Time to pick a starter, let them and the offense get their rhythm, and expand the play book. The other two can do some spot duty at the end of a half or mop up.

Is this an attempt to avoid one or more of them from transferring?

it looks like it's an attempt to find the best QB, and I can't tell much difference between the 3.

Gunnar seems to have the better command of the team.

IMO, we need to see the rotation one more time, and possibly also against the ISU Gamblers.

If we can narrow it down to the top 2 after this week, then that might be helpful.

I really wouldn't care if we played the whole season with rotation so long as they're producing like they are now. Their collective stats are pretty darn good.

I agree. The team seems to rally around Gunnar. His stats look better. He doesn't seem to be afraid of playing. Very stable. I hope Dad Gundy isn't holding him back because of their relationship and afraid to announce for him.

I'm curious if they are holding the entire offense back. If they are thinking " We can't run that play because Gundy and Bowman didn't get to". We can't open the offense so WRs and RBs aren't playing to the levels they can. I don't care who it is if they are all this close then it seems to not matter who it is. Imo Bowman hasn't played when the rushing adjustments have been made either game so the offense has been one dimensional. Hopefully we see the only rotation we haven't yet in Gundy, Rangel, Bowman.
