STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men’s basketball is looking to get back above .500 on the season this coming Thursday as they play host to the No. 8th ranked Creighton Bluejays.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.

The Cowboys have won two games in row after dropping both games at the Legends Classic in Brooklyn, with a 92-65 drubbing of Houston Christian coming last Friday. The last three-and-a-half games, however, were played without senior guard, Bryce Thompson, who left the 66-64 loss to St. Bonaventure with an injury.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, head coach Mike Boynton said on Tuesday Thompson had practiced on Monday and was trending in the right direction. They will, however, be without 7-1 redshirt freshman center, Isaiah Miranda, who’s been sidelined with a hip injury since the exhibition game to start the season.

The Bluejays are 5-1 overall on the season and are coming off a rare early-season loss, this one to Colorado State in Kansas City, 69-48.

Through six games, the Bluejays are averaging 84 points per game on 50% shooting from the field and 39% shooting from 3-point range, while holding opponents to just 64 points per game on 41% shooting from the floor.

They’re led by senior guard, Baylor Scheierman, who’s averaging nearly 20 points per game to start the season. He’s also leading the team in rebounds with 7.0 per game, while shooting 48% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.
