Cowgirl Basketball Adds Transfer Macey Huard

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team has signed Montana transfer Macey Huard it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.

“We are very excited to add Macey to our Cowgirl family. Our culture is the most important thing we strive to protect and build upon each year and Macey is the perfect addition for us in that area. She is a natural leader and has tremendous upside due to her work ethic,” Hoyt said. “She has a unique ability to score at all three levels for her size and length. She will also make a big impact for us on both sides of the floor as she has a knack for rebounding.”

Huard is the daughter of FOX Sports analyst, and former Washington and NFL quarterback, Brock Huard, who was in Stillwater for Macey’s visit this weekend.

As a freshman last season for the Lady Griz, the Highlands Ranch, Colo., native averaged 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest, playing in 32 of the squad’s 33 games.

Huard scored a season-high 16 points in Montana’s WNIT win over Boise State and would tally double-digit scoring performances nine times during her freshman season.

A prep standout at Valor Christian High School, Huard was ranked as the top player in Colorado for the class of 2023 by Prep Girls Hoops. The 6-2 guard was Class 6A’s leading scorer during her final campaign at 22.1 points per outing.

Huard earned all-state honors and was tabbed as the league’s most valuable player as well as a member of the Denver Post’s All-Colorado Team. She led her squad to a state title as a sophomore as well as a runner-up finish the following year.

She set the school’s single-game mark with nine made 3-pointers and finished her career with 1,619 points.
