Oklahoma State Lands Pledge From FIU Guard Arturo Dean Plus Mousa Cisse Could Be Back
STILLWATER – Less than 24 hours after arriving on campus for an official visit, Arturo Dean announced his commitment to Oklahoma State and Steve Lutz.
Originally out of Miami, FL, Dean checks in at 5-11, 163 pounds and is coming off an impressive sophomore season with the Panthers in which he led the NCAA in steals with 104 on the season. He also averaged 13.4 points on 42% shooting from the field and 30% from 3-point range. He also had 124 assists, which is impressive, but also had a really high number of turnovers with 114.
He started 31 of 32 games this past season, averaging nearly 29 minutes per game and bringing down 5.1 boards per game.
Last season as a freshman, Dean averaged nearly 12 points per game on 43% shooting from the field, just 19% from 3-point range and 64% from the free throw line. He also recorded 119 assists, 100 turnovers and brought down 4.1 boards per game.
This is a solid addition for Lutz as Dean brings experience on both ends of the court, obviously on the defensive end with his steals and then the offensive end with his assists. Now, the turnovers were and issue and will be worked on. Something to make a note of is the most turnovers a player on Lutz’s roster at Western Kentucky had last season was 68.
Pokes Report has also learned former Oklahoma State center, Moussa Cisse, who has since re-entered the transfer portal after one season at Ole Miss, is on campus right now on a visit. According to our source, Cisse was seen at a local breakfast spot here in Stillwater with the entire coaching staff and said coach Lutz is a good coach and that he has a plan.
We will be following the storyline of Cisse in Stillwater and report on anything new.
Lutz now has eight scholarship spots he needs to fill for next season as Dean joins Bryce Thompson, Jamyron Keller, Connor Dow and incoming freshman Jeremiah Johnson.
