STILLWATER – It’s officially official: Oklahoma State senior guard Bryce Thompson is using his final year of eligibility for one final season as a Cowboy.

Thompson took to Twitter Friday evening to make the announcement.

While this news isn’t too much of a surprise as most people just assumed he’d be back, it’s certainly welcomed news as Thompson brings a level of experience and stability this roster needs.

This past season was cut short for the senior out of Tulsa, OK, after he suffered a shoulder injury in Lawrence against his former team, giving him just 18 games. But in those games, Thompson averaged nearly 12 points a game on 39% shooting from the floor and 34% shooting from the 3-point line. He was also third on the team in rebounding with 4.8 boards per game, as well as third on the team in assists with 49.

In three seasons with the Cowboys, a total of 83 games, Thompson has averaged 11.3 points and 2.3 boards per game, while also dishing out nearly two assists per game.

Now that it’s official, Thompson is one of six players brought in by Lutz. He’s one of the three returning players, joining Jamyron Keller and Connor Dow, incoming freshman Jeremiah Johnson, and transfers Arturo Dean (FIU) and Robert Jennings II (Texas Tech).

The transfer portal will officially close on May 1. Players who have already entered the portal can pick a school at any time, but players won’t be able to enter past that deadline.
