STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State freshman center Brandon Garrison has committed to Kentucky, per a post on his social media accounts.

Garrison entered the transfer portal on March 18, roughly a week after Oklahoma State announced it was moving on from former head coach Mike Boynton.

Two other former Cowboys have announced commitments to others schools as Eric Dailey Jr. is headed to UCLA and Quion Williams is headed to Abilene Christian.

The McDonald’s All-American out of Oklahoma City appeared in all 32 games this past season for the Cowboys, starting in the last 29 games of the season.

He averaged 7.5 points on 59% shooting from the field and 5.3 rebounds per game in 22.7 minutes of action. He also recorded 47 blocks on the season, fifth most for an OSU freshman, for an average of 1.47 per game, which also ranked fifth in the Big 12.

Over the past week, new head coach Steve Lutz has landed three commitments out of the transfer portal, including a point guard and two forwards. The point guard, Arturo Dean, was the first to announce his pledge to the Pokes after an official visit last week. He led the nation in steals this past season with 104. The 5-11, 163-pound guard also averaged 13.4 points on 42% shooting from the field and 30% from 3-point range. He also had 124 assists, which is impressive, but also had a really high number of turnovers with 114.

The first forward to commit was Texas Tech transfer, Robert Jennings II.

Jennings II checks in at 6-7, 230 pounds, and is coming off his sophomore season in Lubbock with the Red Raiders. This past season, he started 10 of 33 games, including the final seven of the season, averaging 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in just 12.3 minutes per game. He shot nearly 53% from the field and nearly 75% from the free throw line.

Then just a few days ago, Lutz landed a commitment from UCF transfer forward, Marchelus Avery.

Originally out of Richmond, VA, Avery spent his senior season this past year with UCF. The 6-7 forward spent the two seasons prior at New Mexico State, where he played for current Oklahoma State associate head coach, James Miller.

This past season, Avery played in 31 games for the Knights, averaging 7.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game on nearly 40% shooting from the field. He set career-highs with 23 assists, 22 steals and eight blocks.

Lutz is also in on former Oklahoma State center, and two-time Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Moussa Cisse. Cisse was in Stillwater this past week on an official visit.

Snagging Cisse would go along ways in healing the loss of Garrison.
