STILLWATER – Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Oklahoma State men’s basketball will have a drastically different looking starting five than the previous season? If you’ve answered yes, that’s because there have been a few seasons in a row for the Pokes where the starting five is drastically different than it was the season before.

I would like to see this lineup guess again once the roster is filled.

I can't help but believe that Brandon Newman won't play a significant amount, along with Dow and McBride.

Year 2 can make all the difference in the world for some players... but then, it sounds like they must play good defense if they want to see the floor.

Good stuff Zach. My guess is if JaMyron Keller comes back and improves defensively, he is the starting point. Thompson and Devo of course. Don't forget Jennings at the forward. A beast inside. Agree on center at this point. Really comparable backups at point and hard and forward. Need some more depth at center and forward. I'm liking this group. Hungry, defensive, and lots of depth. This will be team ball and fun intense basketball. It's been awhile but I like the looks of things.

Yeah will definitely be going back through it as soon as the roster's full. McBride entered the transfer portal, but I think Keller will make an impact next season. Will be fun/interesting to go back through it soon.

Good article Zach. Well written as usual. As I type we got the player from LaSalle last night and sounds like that is a solid addition. Definitely agree, this will be a fun article to see again once the last couple of spots are filled. Hope Keller has a break out year - he flashed moments of greatness last year when he got a chance. Pretty impressive work by Lutz I think considering just a few weeks we didn't even have 5 players to step on the court.

These last two recruits (center and pg Brantley) have really helped to shape a team. Now depth at bigs is critical. Big XII's a grinder without bulk.

That latest commit certainly changed the starting lineup.... I'm interested to see if Thompson remains a starter.

Yeah I agree, this article is going to be updated later today. With both him and Dean being point guards, I'm curious to see how Lutz puts his lineup together. But I also think everything will depend on the next two spots being filled. Will it be one guard and one post, or two bigs. Either way, there will be at least one more big added for sure.

You've repeatedly mentioned McBride who hasn't been with the program since a few days after Lutz was hired? Safe to say he's not going to play much of a role this season or any going forward.

Thanks. I'm not sure how I missed that. I thought we had one forward returning, and 5 players total (including recruit Johnson), with 8 scholarships to fill. Guess not.

My wife was in the hospital with sepsis for almost 3 weeks - thanks for letting me know.

Not trying to be negative, just realistic.... A player that averages 15 ppg in the A10 is probably not going to average that in the best conference in the country. I saw Brantley play a few times last year and he should be a competitive Big12 player, though. He does bring some NYC toughness with him. He might start for 1/3 of the teams in the Big12.

Small played for ECU last year, and his stats were almost identical to his OSU season stats, and he was our best player.

We shall see. Small had not played that much college ball when he arrived in Stillwater and his game was still growing as he exhibited last season. Brantley has played a lot of ball. He's a good player and I hope he does well. Time will tell.

I was not questioning the ability of either player but rather your statement that A10 ball (i.e. mid-major) does not equate to B12 play, statistically speaking.

Like I pointed out anecdotally, and you embellished, Small did it with an even smaller sample size due to his injury.

We shall see, but I'm expecting him to be the game1 starter at PG, based mostly on his Asst/TO ratio.
