STILLWATER – Oklahoma State and Steve Lutz just landed a talented guard out of the transfer portal. On Friday evening, La Salle point guard Khalil Brantley took to his Instagram to announce he’s chosen the Cowboys.

Brantley checks in at 6-0, 175 pounds and is originally out of the Bronx, N.Y. and Our Savior Lutheran.

Brantley entered the transfer portal back in late March after three seasons with La Salle, two of which were very productive. This past season as a junior, Brantley averaged 15 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while starting 32 of 33 games. While those numbers are impressive because Lutz needed to add a talented scoring guard to replace the production from Javon Small, Brantley recorded 137 assists to just 74 turnovers. That’s just over four assists per game.

Those numbers were fairly comparable to his sophomore stats as he posted 14.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, while posting 132 assists and 86 turnovers.

As a freshman, Brantley played in 29 games, starting in four of those, while averaging 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He also had 46 assists and 41 turnovers.

Brantley is now the seventh commitment out of the transfer portal for Lutz and Co., joining FIU guard Arturo Dean, Arkansas guard Davonte Davis, Western Kentucky guard Brandon Newman, Texas Tech forward Robert Jennings II, UCF forward Marchelus Avery and Xavier center Abou Ousmane.
