Oklahoma State Hoops Loses Commitment From 2025 Guard Carlsheon Young

STILLWATER – Steve Lutz and Co. have a bit more work to do in the 2025 class following the decommitment from Midwest City guard, Carlsheon Young on Monday.

Young took to Twitter to make the announcement.

This past season as a junior, Young helped the Bombers win the 5A state title as he averaged 18.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Young is listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 21 combo guard in the class.

While a decommitment is never ideal for a program, I’m surprised at the timing of Young’s decommitment because it took place so long after the coaching change from Mike Boynton to Steve Lutz. Boynton was let go from the program back on March 14, with Lutz taking over on April 1.

Young first committed to the Pokes and Boynton back in Oct. 2023 and was originally offered in May 2022.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
dang... back at it.

some kids may not like Lutz's style of play, and/or some NIL offers are being dangled by opposition for good talent

Did he de commit or was he told that OSU was moving in a different direction and he probably needed to consider a different destination???

Good luck unless you take the court against OSU. Next HS commit or portal player up! GO POKES!!!

That was my thought as well. Always good to get kids from
OK, but not sure he was moving the needle and I'm hopeful the staff has some bigger fish to reel in.
