STILLWATER – Steve Lutz and Co. have a bit more work to do in the 2025 class following the decommitment from Midwest City guard, Carlsheon Young on Monday.

Young took to Twitter to make the announcement.

This past season as a junior, Young helped the Bombers win the 5A state title as he averaged 18.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Young is listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 21 combo guard in the class.

While a decommitment is never ideal for a program, I’m surprised at the timing of Young’s decommitment because it took place so long after the coaching change from Mike Boynton to Steve Lutz. Boynton was let go from the program back on March 14, with Lutz taking over on April 1.

Young first committed to the Pokes and Boynton back in Oct. 2023 and was originally offered in May 2022.
