2022 Defensive Back Target Avyonne Jones Includes Cowboys In Top 10

STILLWATER – One of the top defensive prospects on Oklahoma State’s recruiting board has included the Cowboys in his newly released top 10.

Avyonne Jones, 2022 Southlake Carroll cornerback has a strong top 10 of the Cowboys, Kansas State, Arkansas, SMU, Arkansas, Arizona, Texas Tech, Houston, Wisconsin, Louisiana Tech, and Colorado.

Jones picked up his Oklahoma State offer in December, being one his first offers in his recruiting process, a development that has paid off so far for the Cowboys. It was thought that Jones would make a commitment decision in late February or early March but with a heavy number of schools jumping into the race in recent weeks, Jones wants to make sure he is making the right decision for any school he chooses.

He is one of the top cornerback prospects on the board for the Cowboys recruiting staff as well as a few other DFW stars and of course the already committed Cameron Epps.

In his junior season, Jones racked up 46 total tackles, three tackles for loss, 13 pass deflections and one interception.

The staff is looking to bring in at least three cornerbacks in this class but could take one or two more if they are the right fit and there is room in the class.

The 2022 recruiting class has started extremely well for the Cowboys and it will continue to do so with some very high targets starting to make big decisions and winding down their recruitment with final lists and commitment dates.

Avyonne Jones would be a huge land for the Cowboys in this class and as of right now, they are in a very good spot to land him.
