STILLWATER – The Big 12 just released the complete slate of conference games for the upcoming 2024-25 season, meaning Oklahoma State basketball’s schedule is now complete.
All tipoff times and television details will be announced at a later date.
The conference slate features 20 games for the Pokes, 10 at home in Gallagher-Iba Arena and 10 out on the road.
The first conference game of the Steve Lutz era doesn’t get much tougher than this as the Pokes play host to Houston on Monday, December 30. Then they hit the road for the first road match-up of Big 12 play against West Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 4.
They’re back home on Tuesday, Jan. 7 against Kansas State, before a two-game road trip against Utah on Saturday, Jan. 11 and Tuesday, Jan. 14 against BYU.
Back home for two-straight home games, one against Colorado on Saturday, Jan. 18 and Arizona on Tuesday, Jan. 21, before going back out on the road for two games, Texas Tech on Sunday, Jan. 26 and Kansas State on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Then there’s four-straight back-and-forth home and road games: home against Utah on Saturday, Feb. 1, on the road at Houston Tuesday, Feb. 4, back home against Arizona State on Sunday, Feb. 9 before heading down to Fort Worth for the only game against TCU on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
The Pokes are back at home for the second game against Texas Tech, Saturday, Feb. 15, before hosting UCF on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
The only game against Kansas is going to be a tough one as the Pokes travel up to Lawrence for a Saturday game on Feb. 19, before hosting Iowa State for the last game in February on Tuesday the 25th.
Two straight road games on Saturday, March 1 against Baylor and across the country in Orlando at UCF Wednesday, March 5 before the Pokes wrap up conference play at home against Cincinnati on Saturday, March 8.
“It’s still early and I haven’t really dove into the rosters in the Big 12, so I haven’t made the final determination as to whether we’ll have to double the post,” Lutz said when he spoke to the media on Monday. “We’ll have time to do that. Right now the process with practice is more about us. We know this is a physical league and we are going to have to be a physical team. Practices are physical and the guys are eager to compete.”
Practice continues and the Cowboys have a scrimmage on the road at Wichita State on Saturday, Oct. 12 and then they will host SMU in a scrimmage inside Gallagher-Iba Arena on Saturday, Oct. 26.
