Brennan Presley Joins Elite OSU Company With 5,000+ Career All-Purpose Yards
Brennan Presley joined elite company on Saturday night at TCU as a five-yard reception late in the third quarter gave him 5,000 career all-purpose yards.
He joins three College Football Hall of Famers, and OSU Ring of Honor members, Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas and Terry Miller.
“It’s a pretty cool deal,” Presley told Robert Allen in the postgame interview. “The ultimate goal is to win, the catches and everything is a byproduct of it. So, from that aspect it’s great, but the name of the game is to win. While [the record] feels good, it’s not the goal that we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year in terms of winning. Whatever I can do to help out the team, fourth downs, third downs, first downs, it doesn’t really matter, I’ll do whatever I can to help out the team. Whether it’s crunch time or garbage time, just do what I can. The things that come with it, that’s just a byproduct of the work and everything else.”
Thomas is the all-time leader in program history with 6,017 yards, Sanders is in second with 5,484 yards and Miller with 5,305 yards.
With the fourth quarter still to go, and two more games remaining on the schedule, it’s possible Presley clears Miller for sole possession of third place. It’s going to be a tall task to supplant Sanders for second, but it’s certainly possible.
Presley is also just a few receptions away from being the program’s all-time leader in receptions.
