Brennan Presley Becomes Oklahoma State All-Time Receptions Leader
It continues to be a historic night for Brennan Presley as he passed Rashaun Woods for the most receptions in Oklahoma State history.
Presley now has 294 catches following an 18-yard catch early in the fourth quarter.
Rashaun Woods finished with 293 catches and Justin Blackmon is third on the list with 253.
Presley recorded his 295th catch a few plays later.
“It’s a pretty cool deal,” Presley told Robert Allen in the postgame interview. “The ultimate goal is to win, the catches and everything is a byproduct of it. So, from that aspect it’s great, but the name of the game is to win. While [the record] feels good, it’s not the goal that we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year in terms of winning. Whatever I can do to help out the team, fourth downs, third downs, first downs, it doesn’t really matter, I’ll do whatever I can to help out the team. Whether it’s crunch time or garbage time, just do what I can. The things that come with it, that’s just a byproduct of the work and everything else.”
Earlier in the second half, Presley eclipsed the 5,000 career all-purpose yards on a five-yard reception late in the third quarter. He joined some elite company as there are only three other Cowboys who have more than 5,000 career all-purpose yards. Thurman Thomas leads the way with 6,017 yards, Barry Sanders is in second with 5,484 yards and Terry Miller is third with 5,305 yards.
There are still two games on the schedule for the Cowboys, so it’s going to be fun to see how many catches and all-purpose yards Presley finishes with. He has a chance to really extend his lead, making this a near-impossible record to break again.
