Reactions To Big 12 Championship And Moving Forward To NCAA Tournament
It’s never fun to lose any game, especially one of the championship variety but the blow is a little lessened when the realization hits that there are bigger things at play for the future such as the NCAA tournament.
This is the mindset that a majority of Oklahoma State fans are taking right now after the Cowboys fell to Texas 91-86 in the Big 12 Championship Saturday night. It is a good mindset to have seeing how the Cowboys are projected a 2-seed in the tournament even aftee the loss.
Social media can be a place where blame is thrown and opinions are made public, but the primary reactions to the Cowboys loss is optimism and joy for what is to come in the coming days and weeks.
Mike Boynton showed a great amount of appreciation to the Oklahoma State fans after the game. “Im hopeful some of them can show up in Indianapolis but we have unbelievable fans, I can’t thank them enough.”
“I was in the lockerroom about 45 minutes before the game, I could hear the “Orange Power’ chant, it was reverberating all the way into the lockerroom. It felt like I was about to walk out into a full crowd. I am so excited they can get back to enjoying Oklahoma State basketball the way they know it.”
One of the biggest story lines coming into the game was that Texas did not have to play a semi-final game due to Kansas testing positive for COVID-19. There were some fans after the game that felt this may have contributed to helping Kansas.
