STILLWATER – Friday was a great day for Oklahoma State Cowboy basketball. Steve Lutz and Co. landed two commitments out of the transfer portal, and Texas A&M hired a new head coach not named Steve Lutz.

The success carried over into Saturday as they landed a third commitment out of the portal.

It was reported on Thursday Lutz was a part of Texas A&M AD Trev Albert’s search to replace former head coach Buzz Williams.

How long do you want to ignore this user?

Keller and Jennings we're great coming off the bench, most of all they seemed to bring energy .... hard to describe

a couple of more pieces and we might have us a team that could make the NCAA

Absolutely agree. If they get another big guard who can score, a 6-7/6-9 forward and a big man, they'd be set. It'll be interesting to see how the scholarship situation plays out with House v. NCAA, but would only help them if they had to get 15 instead of 13.

I just looked up OSU coaching records and don't look now but Lutz made #10 on the list, and considering he only had 3 players here when he took over, that's quite a start, IMO.

Lutz is at .486, and ahead of Leonard Hamilton (e.g.)

There are also 2 other coaches on the list with only 1 season, Underwood at .606, and Boyd Hill at .400 (1908)

Here is the coaching list - you can sort it by winning%

I was actually looking up Ford's record, 3rd OSU all time... not that bad really. Too bad some fans got disenfranchised and tarnished his tenure. Those last two years were tough (not Boynton tough, but tough to watch the fan malaise).

I'm very happy we seem to have some spark back, I hope it continues to build, but like Ford, Lutz has some very strong headwinds blowing (NIL, Portal, revenue share, etc)
