Oklahoma State Set to Host UAB Transfer Forward Christian Coleman
STILLWATER – Steve Lutz and Co. are hosting a talented forward out of the transfer portal. There are at least four open spots left on the roster, and the coaching staff is looking to add some length.
Pokes Report has learned Oklahoma State is hosting UAB transfer forward, Christian Coleman. He’s set to arrive in Stillwater tonight, April 24.
Coleman checks in at 6-8, 205 pounds and is originally out of Franklin Parish out of Winnsboro, LA. He’s been hearing from a number of schools, including Arizona State, who he visited a few weeks back, Cincinnati, Memphis, OU and Seton Hall among others.
This past season as a senior, Coleman averaged nearly 12 points on 53% shooting from the floor and 7.1 rebounds per game. And for the biggest surprise you’ll probably read all portal season, he shot 0% from 3-point range as he attempted and missed his one 3-point shot of the season across 37 games and more than 1,000 minutes of action.
Prior to his time at UAB, he started his career at NAIA LSU Alexandria, where he appears to have redshirted and didn’t record any stats.
He spent one season with South Plains College (JUCO), where he played in 29 games and averaged 20.1 points per game on 52% shooting from the floor.
So, Coleman knows what his game is, what his strengths are and plays into them. Size and strength down low are what the Cowboys need and that’s what Coleman would bring to the table.
