The time is almost upon us! On campus recruiting visits are set to open up on June 1 as the NCAA is on schedule to do away with the COVID recruiting bans. The Oklahoma State recruiting staff is taking advantage of the opening early and is riding the momentum of their recruiting.

In the past few hours, several Cowboy targets and commits have scheduled and announced the dates they will be in Stillwater for their official visits. This will be a constantly updated article that I will break down by date scheduled:

** = Committed

JUNE 9-11

  • Brenen Thompson - Wide Receiver - 4 star

The Spearman, Texas, standout is a top 100 recruit and has been named an Under Armour All American, one of the most prestigious honors in high school football. Thompson is listed as an “athlete” in most cases because he excels at multiple positions, in all three phases of the game. He has played quite a bit of quarterback, purely because of his athleticism. He has also received all-district honors at both wide receiver and cornerback, while also being one of the special teams returners in the country. His playmaking is all driven from his speed, which is beyond elite. In fact, many say he could place at an Olympic event in the sprinting events. He runs a 10.3 100m dash as well as a 21.52 200m dash. Oklahoma State is recruiting him to play the wide receiver position and they have had him at the top of the board since they offered him back in early April 2020.

  • Jordan Crook** - Linebacker - 4 star

One of the crown jewels of this 2022 recruiting class for the Cowboys, Crook committed just a few weeks ago but he has been feeling the love from Oklahoma State for years. He has been on campus several times before so this visit will be one where he can re-familiarize himself with campus and the facilities as well as catch up with the staff. Crook has already been a vocal recruiter, but you can expect him to turn it up a notch this weekend with the uncommitted guys, especially guys like Brenen Thompson.

  • Garret Rangel** - Quarterback - 4 star

The quarterback of the future will be on hand this weekend as well and will also be a big recruiter, along with Crook. Rangel is about as locked in as it can get so this will be a fun visit for Rangel. He has been committed for about a month and a half now and has already said multiple times that committing was the best decision of his life.

  • Dylahn (DJ) McKinney - Cornerback - 3 star

One of the top cornerback prospects on the board for the Cowboys will participate in the most important weekend for Oklahoma State of the year. McKinney spoke with me just last week about the Cowboys and he is a big fan of Duffie and the rest of the defensive staff. He wants to be committed by his senior season, so this visit might be the thing that triggers a decision. Either way, I expect him to end up in this class whether a commitment comes before that visit, during, or after. I don’t see the Cowboys being beat out for this one.

  • Mason Gilkey** - Wide Receiver - 3 star

The lone wide receiver commitment in this class will be on hand to meet the staff in person for the first time as well as his fellow commits and targets. Probably one of the least known power five commitments in the 2022 class, this weekend will help his name get around to the other players visiting that weekend. The Pawhuska, Oklahoma, standout is a guy the staff fell in love with immediately when they saw him so it should be a fun weekend for both parties.

  • Avyonne Jones - Cornerback - 3 star

Jones is one of the top defensive back targets for the Oklahoma State staff in this recruiting cycle. The Cowboys were one of the first offers for Jones and they have been at the top of his recruitment since then. The Southlake Carrol stud has relationships with several of the current commits for the Cowboys, most notably Garret Rangel and Jordan Crook, who he has known since they were little kids. This is another guy who could leave the weekend committed.

  • Landon Dean**- Defensive End- 3 star

Dean is another commit that will be on campus for his crazy weekend. He has been in the fold for a decent amount of time now and will finally be able to visit campus and meet the staff for the first time in person. Dean is also another guy that may now be known by all the targets or other players but will be a guy they enjoy being around and like after spending some time with him. Dean could be a big piece of the future of the defense.

  • Tre Emory - Defensive line - 3 star

The interior defensive line is going to be an important for this class, only bringing in one last year with Aden Kelley. Emory is on the top of that list to fill the role. He is a dominant force and Oklahoma State would be getting a major bonus in this class if he were to commit. This is a guy that the other commits will be pressing to join them.

  • CJ Brown** - Running back - 4 star

One of the longest commits in this class will finally be able to visit with the staff and meet his future teammates, something he has been waiting for. Brown is locked in with the staff so like the other commits, this visit will be all about building relationships and seeing the facilities, campus, and living arrangements they will be using when they get on campus. Brown will be another big recruiter, especially for the local guys that will be on campus.

  • Cameron Epps** - Cornerback - 3 star

Epps will be making his way to Stillwater for the first time and this will also be a trip of relationships and comfort rather than making decisions. He’s locked in and should be in for a good time with Coach Duffie and the rest of the defensive staff. He has been vocal on social media since he committed so he will most likely be asked to help with the other corners on the visit as well as guys like Jalen Marshall, who is from the same area of the country.

June 10-12

  • Kaian Roberts-Day - Tight End - 3 star

This visit will be an intriguing one, with his offer only be extended a couple days ago and currently being committed to Baylor. The overall athlete plays on both sides of the ball but the Cowboys like him at the tight end position, something he says he likes the idea of in Stillwater. He will be overlapping with tons of the other visitors so a flip could be in the works.

JUNE 11-13

  • Jalen Marshall - Defensive Line - 3 star

From a purely intangibles perspective, Marshall is one of the more impressive defensive lineman I’ve seen that the Cowboys are going after. At around 6’5 and 270 pounds, he is absolutely massive and is a force in the middle of that defensive line. He is extremely athletic and can move very well for his size. He holds offers from Arkansas, Oregon, Arizona State and others, so this visit being his first will be very important.

  • Micheal Ibukun-Okeyode - Defensive line - 3 star

Ibukun-Okeyode is an edge rusher type of player and taking this visit with another defensive lineman in Jalen Marshall should match well for the staff when trying to land both of them. This will be a visit where they try to help them envision what their future would be as Cowboys and Ibukun-Okeyode has already been a fan of the staff and how they run the program.

JUNE 16-18

  • Kelvin Banks - Offensive Line - 5 star

The prospect that is arguably the top offensive line in America will make his way to Stillwater on June 16 to take part in a weekend, where the staff will unroll the red carpet and throw every tool in the toolbox at him to impress him. This will be a full staff kind of day on a very few amount of recruits to this point, so they will really feel the press coming after them. Banks was alredy committed once, so it will be the staff’s goal to land him a second time. He does not have a timeline for a commitment so he could make a decision at anytime and this visit will play a very large part.

  • Nikolas Hall - Offensive Line - 3 star

Hall is a bit of a lesser-known name among some fans but this is a high quality prospect. I watched him at the Under Armour All America and he dominated some elite defensive lineman. He is a bully type and just overpowers and out physicals guys in 1v1’s. He holds four offers right now, Oklahoma State being the one that stands out the most to him right now. With only offensive lineman scheduled for this weekend, they will be able to cater to their specifications and only focus on them.

  • Kyron Chambers - Cornerback - 3 star

Another talanted cornerback from the DFW area will make his way to Stillwater. Chambers is another guy who I’ve been predicting would commit for a while and we shall see if it will come true. He has not scheduled any other official visits yet, so this bodes well for the Cowboys.

This list will be updated as more official visits are scheduled!
