STILLWATER – The search for the first piece in the 2026 class for Oklahoma State men’s basketball continues throughout the summer. It was announced on July 1st Steve Lutz and Co. will host four-star guard, Neiko Mundey, in late September. Now, it appears the Cowboys are set to host another four-star guard in Trent Perry.

He currently has visits scheduled for Maryland on July 29, Texas A&M August 29 and TCU September 19. The date for his visit to Stillwater hasn’t been decided yet.

Perry checks in at 6-4, 175 pounds and is out of Missouri, but plays for Link Academy in Branson, MO, but is originally from Frisco, TX. He currently holds close to 10 offers, including Oklahoma State, Maryland, Penn State, SMU, TCU, Texas AA&M and Penn State among others.

The On3 industry ranking currently has Perry as the No. 87 overall prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 4 overall combo guard in the country and the No. 3 overall prospect out of Missouri.

This past spring, Perry helped Link Academy win the inaugural 2024-25 Nike EYBL Scholastic Tournament over teams like Brewster Academy, IMG Academy, Montverde Academy, where Cade Cunningham played, AXZ Compass Prep and Sunrise Christian Academy up in Wichita, KS.

There will be at least five roster spots to fill following the upcoming 2025-26 season based on eligibility alone.

Nah, Sac State was the school that announced last fall they had some $50 mil in NIL funds.

I hadn't heard that, I just looked.

The NCAA just denied their waiver to move to FBS as an Independent, and they have not received an invite to joint a FBS conference. They are trying to get into the PAC12, or the Mt West for the 2026 season.

The $35 million was "secured" (i.e., committed) with the goal of $50 million.

Now the whole NIL landscape changed, and Sac State does not have $20 mil in revenue to share with their players.

They did sign a 5-star QB, but that was before the House ruling was finalized. So, that could still fall apart, I would think.

They are "going to" build a 24k seat football stadium by 2028, and "possibly" rent with Kings arena when the kings are not in town for basketball.

They may get it all done, but I think that timeline is working against them, as is the House ruling.

If this player ends up at Sac State, then something very shady is going on.
