OSU Hoops: Lindy Waters III On the Move, Lakers Confirm Marcus Smart News
STILLWATER – A few days after it was reported Marcus Smart is headed to Los Angeles, the Lakers officially announced the signing.
He played in only 20 games to start the season with the Grizzlies, before being moved to Washington at the trade deadline. Things didn’t get any better for Smart has he played in just 15 games off the bench, averaging 9.3 points, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals in just under 19 minutes a game.
As for Lindy Waters III, Shams Charania reported on Wednesday morning he’s signed a one-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
Lindy has spent this past season up in Detroit playing for the Pistons after he was traded by Golden State earlier in the season.
He played in 38 games for the Warriors to start the year, averaging 5.5 points on 37% shooting from the floor in just over 17 minutes a game. In Detroit, he played in 14 games, averaging 3.4 points on 36% shooting in nearly nine minutes per game.
San Antonio could end up being a great fit for Waters as the Spurs are looking to try and build a talented roster around Victor Wembanyama to try and make a run in the West.
