Oklahoma State to Face SMU in Dallas Exhibition

The Cowboys are making the return trip to Dallas to for an exhibition against SMU.

STILLWATER – It was announced on Tuesday Oklahoma State will be making a return trip back to Dallas for an exhibition against SMU this fall. The two faced each other in Stillwater ahead of last season to benefit heart health.

The game will be played on October 25. 

This will also be the third time in the past year the two teams will have played as the Cowboys beat SMU in the second round of the NIT this past spring. They went 24-11 this season, 13-7 in ACC play and will be entering the second season of head coach Andy Enfield. 

It was announced in early July the Cowboys will also be facing Auburn in the preseason down in Alabama on Oct. 15. 

The Tigers are coming off winning the SEC regular season championship and advancing all the way to the Final Four where they fell eventual national champions, Florida, 79-73. They finished the season with a 32-6 overall record, 15-3 in SEC play. 

As for the Cowboys, they improved upon their 2024 season by going 17-18 overall in 2024-25, 7-13 in Big 12 play with an impressive 13-4 record at home. That home record included an impressive 74-68 upset win over No. 9 Iowa State and an 86-73 win over Arizona State.
