STILLWATER – Oklahoma State just landed talented four-star wing out of Owasso (OK) HS in the 2026 class, Jalen Montonati.
Montonati is the son of former Cowboys basketball standout, and Owasso head coach, Brian Montonati.
Checking in at 6-7, 175 pounds, Jalen chose the Pokes over more than 20 schools, which included OU, who was one of the final schools, Alabama, Arkansas, BYU, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Ohio State, St. John’s, Tennessee and Texas A&M among others.
He’s a two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year, who averaged more than 23 points and six rebounds a game this past season as a junior and is set for an even better senior season.
Jalen will be in Stillwater this weekend for his official visit. Would have to imagine it’s infinitely more enjoyable for Steve Lutz and Co. to host a prospect knowing they won’t have to work super hard to land him.
Montonati is the first commitment for Lutz and Co. in the 2026 class, and is one heck of a way to start things off.
