STILLWATER – Oklahoma State sharpshooter Anthony Roy is on the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year preseason watch list, which is annually given to the top shooting guard in college basketball.

There are currently 20 players on the list and will be narrowed down to 10 in late January and the final five players announced in March. The winner of the award will be announced at the 2026 Final Four up in Indianapolis.

Roy transferred to Oklahoma State from Green Bay in the spring, where he was the leading scorer through the first 11 games of the 2024-25 season before a season-ending injury. He shot an impressive 50% from the field and 43% shooting from 3-point range while averaging nearly 26 points per game. That includes dropping 27 here in Stillwater on 56% shooting from the floor and 7-of-13 shooting from 3-point range.

He also dropped 30 points against Ohio State in Columbus.

He transferred to Green Bay from just down the road at Langston University, where he was an NAIA All-America first team selection. He was the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year after averaging just over 18 points and five rebounds a game.

While it was just an exhibition, Roy dropped 28 points and 12 rebounds in the overtime win over No. 20 Auburn, shooting 5-of-10 from 3-point range.

Roy and the Cowboys kick the season off on Tuesday, November 4 as they play host to Oral Roberts. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
