Oklahoma State Lands Aussie Punter Lachie Pozzobon From SFA, Also Two Long Snappers

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has an Australian punter back on the roster. On Saturday night, it was announced Lachie Pozzobon had committed to Eric Morris and Co. out of the transfer portal.
Lachie Pozzobon, the second commitment out of the portal after Drew Mestemaker, transfers after his freshman season at Stephen F. Austin.
The 6-4, 180-pound punter out of Melbourne, Australia, had 53 punts this past season for SFA, which averaged nearly 42 yards per punt. For comparison, redshirt senior Wes Pahl had 64 punts for the Pokes this past season for an average of 46 yards per punt.
Nearly every single player from the Cowboys’ 2025 roster have either graduated or entered the transfer portal. So, while Eric Morris and Co. are off to a decent start, there’s still a lot of roster work to be done.
Oklahoma State also picked up a commitment from two long snappers, Nolan Akins of SMU and Caden Yates of North Texas. Akins was the backup snapper for the Mustangs and played in two games this past season. He is a product of Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Akins is listed at 6-1, 213 pounds. He will be a redshirt freshman. Yates is 6-1, 226 pounds and is out of Argyl (TX) HS. He’s coming off his sophomore season in which he snapped in all 13 games, was the snapper for a field goal unit that went 11-of-12 on FGs and a perfect 70-of-70 on extra points.
The expectation is that they will battle with Owasso, Okla. All-State snapper Jaxson Duffield, who redshirted at Oklahoma State this past season.
