Oklahoma State Lands Commitments From Multiple North Texas Offensive Linemen
STILLWATER – Eric Morris and Co. are starting to add offensive linemen out of the transfer portal, with multiple coming from North Texas.
The first to commit on Sunday night was soon-to-be redshirt junior, Desmond Magiya.
Out of McKinney (TX) HS, Magiya checks in at 6-5, 329 pounds.
This past season as a redshirt sophomore, Magiya recorded 368 snaps across 12 games, two of which were starts, and didn’t allow a sack.
The Mean Green had one of the best offensive units in the country in 2025, ranking first in the FBS with 512 yards per game, 18th in the FBS with 1.3 sacks per game allowed and 25th with 194.4 rushing yards per game.
He played in eight games as a redshirt freshman, primarily on special teams and in just two games in 2023 to save a redshirt.
Joining Magiya from Denton is offensive tackle, Braydon Nelson.
Nelson, who checks in at 6-4, 321 pounds, is coming off a solid sophomore season with the Mean Green.
Out of Kilgore (TX) HS, Nelson started all 13 games this past season for the Mean Green, 11 at left tackle and two at right tackle. In his 13 games, Nelson posted a PFF grade of 73.2, which was seventh-best in the American Conference and earned him Second Team All-American Conference status. His efforts helped the Mean Green lead the nation in scoring offense and most rushing touchdowns with 45.
He played in 12 games as a true freshman, starting in 11, and earned FBS All-Freshman team status from Pro Football Focus following the season.
Magiya is the seventh commitment and Nelson is the eighth commitment out of the transfer portal and the fifth player from North Texas to commit. He joins QB Drew Mestemaker, RB Caleb Hawkins, WR Miles Coleman, S Quinton Hammonds, long snappers Nolan Akins and Caden Yates and punter Lachie Pozzobon.
