Oklahoma State Upsets No. 25 UCF 87-76 For 11th-Straight Home Win
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State held on to a late lead to upset No. 25 UCF in Stillwater, 87-76.
With the win, the Cowboys move to 13-2 overall on the season, 1-1 in Big 12 play and are now 11-0 at home this season, the longest streak since the 2014 season.
Parsa Fallah led the way for the Pokes with 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor, 1-of-1 from 3-point range and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. He also had four rebounds.
Point guard Kanye Clary had a great game across the stat sheet as he finished with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor and 3-of-6 from 3-point range, with a team-high nine rebounds and eight assists.
Anthony Roy finished with 15 points and Vyctorius Miller with 13. Roy went 3-of-4 from the free throw line, snapping his streak of made free throws at 38, one shy of tying Joey Graham for fifth all-time in program history.
The Cowboys led nearly wire-to-wire, about 90% of the game, as Fallah put the Pokes on the board first with a layup 30 seconds into the game before the Knights went on a 9-2 run over the next two and a half minutes, leading 9-4. That’s when the Cowboys went on a 10-0 run to go up 14-9 and never trailed again.
The Knights would chisel away at the Pokes’ lead a few times, getting the game down to one-point twice, once in the first half at 14-13 at the 13:17 mark, and again nearly mid-way through the second half at 51-50. The Pokes would extend their lead up to 15 late in the game after they went on a 13-1 one and that was it from the Knights as nine was the closest they could get the game as Kugel drilled two 3-pointers late to make it 80-71.
The Cowboys are back in action this coming Saturday as they travel up to Ames, IA, for a showdown with Iowa State.
