STILLWATER – Oklahoma State appeared to black out on Eddie Sutton Court Wednesday night as the Cowboys fell to No. 8 Kansas, 81-69.

With the loss, the Cowboys dropped to 16-10 overall, 4-9 in Big 12 play and marks the fourth-straight loss for the Pokes.

Poor shooting was a primary culprit as the Cowboys shot just 35% from the floor and 25% from 3-point range. Parsa Fallah led the Cowboys with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the floor, 1-of-4 from 3-point range and 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Anthony Roy was next with 16 points, but he shot just 4-of-14 from the floor. Christian Coleman led with eight rebounds.

The Jayhawks, on the other hand, shot nearly their Big 12 average with 46% from both the floor and 3-point range. They were also 14-of-16 from the free throw line.

The team comparison stats were fairly close, with the Cowboys forcing 12 turnovers to nine. KU outrebounded the Pokes 41-38, outscored the Pokes off the bench 17-14 and in the paint 32-26, with the Cowboys outscoring KU 18-10 off the fastbreak.

The Jayhawks, however, led 39:25 of the game, even taking a 23-point lead with just five minutes left in the first half, 39-16. The Cowboys showed some life after that, going on an 11-0 run over a three-minute period. They’d finished the final five minutes of the first half on a 13-4 run.

Fallah would extend that run up to 20-7 the first three minutes of the second half, making it just a 10-point game, 46-36. But the Jayhawks quickly extended their lead up to 21 points just a few minutes later, 61-40, with the Cowboys never getting their deficit back to single digits.

The Cowboys are back in action this coming Saturday out on the road in Boulder, CO., as they’ll face the Buffs.
