Transfer Portal Update: Pokes In Top-Three for DePaul Transfer

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is in the mix to land another prospect in the 2021 class out of the transfer portal, this time a 6-11 center.

DePaul transfer, Nick Ongenda, released his top three on Tuesday and the Pokes were in the mix, along with Chris Beard and the Texas Longhorns and leaving the portal and remaining with DePaul.

Checking in a 6-11, 210 pounds, Ongenda averaged 5.7 points, four rebounds and 1.5 blocks a game this past season as a sophomore. He also shot 62% from the field. Those numbers are up from 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game as a freshman. The numbers this past season weren’t all that impressive, but his size is a plus down low with depth and he certainly has the frame to add more weight.

The sophomore, originally out of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and three assists per game as a senior at Southwest Christian Academy in Arkansas.
